Adele Gründler, maiden name Sachsse, of Barby, wife of Ernst Gründler, director of the Royal Seminary in Barby, was born on April 2, 1854, in Elberfeld, the youngest daughter of Sachsse, Chief Postmaster and Privy Postal Councilor, who died in Berlin in 1891. Her father’s transfers took her to Arnsberg, Danzig, and Berlin during her school years. In Berlin, she received a thorough education in piano from Professor Theodor Kullak.
