Maija Ruuskanen is a Finnish composer, musician, and music theatre professional. She established herself as a pianist and composer in Helsinki's contemporary music and theatre scenes during her studies at the Sibelius Academy. Her compositional output includes jazz-influenced pop songs, sound design, and songs for theatre and performances, alongside commissioned classical works.
Ruuskanen's works span various genres and projects, including operas like "ÄÄRIMMÄISYYS" (2021), music for theatre productions such as "SIVULLINEN – The Stranger," and pieces like "Laulusarja" (2019) and "Saksofonikvartetto" (2018). She has also released albums, including "Herääminen" (2017).
