Ida Riegels is a cellist and recorder player educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. She has gained recognition as a "cycling cellist," undertaking concert tours in Denmark and internationally by bicycle, often with her cello. Her projects include tours retracing Bach's footsteps and cycling along the Rhine River. Riegels plays a cello she designed and built herself, specifically for solo repertoire.
Her debut CD, "Cello Stories," was released on Danacord Records. Early in her career, she won first prize at "Berlingske Tidende’s Music Competition" and achieved distinction in exams from the "Royal School of Music." Riegels has performed internationally, including at the California Audio Show, and has been featured on Danish and German television and radio. She has also performed at the Royal Danish Theatre and as a soloist with various ensembles, performing Vivaldi concertos for both cello and recorder.
