OSTROVSKAYA, Tatyana Lazarevna

Tatyana Lazarevna Ostrovskaya is a Soviet and American composer, pianist, and niece of the famous Soviet composer A. I. Ostrovsky.

She was born into a family of musicians: her mother graduated from the piano department of the Leningrad Conservatory, and her grandfather was a cellist and a renowned piano tuner. Tatyana Ostrovskaya studied at the Leningrad Special Ten-Year School at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where Mikhail Boyarsky studied with her . Later, when the family moved to Moscow, Tatyana continued her studies at the Central Music School. Then, in 1976, she graduated from the Gnessin Institute. As a song composer, she collaborated with such poets as Mikhail Libin , Sergei Task , Vladimir Vishnevsky , Naum Olev, David Usmanov, and Alexei Rimitsan. Tatyana Ostrovskaya's songs have been performed by Nikolai Karachentsov , Pavel Smeyan, Irina Ponarovskaya , Elena Kamburova , and Larisa Dolina. Her first serious works were the music and songs for the films" The Adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin", "Petrov and Vasechkin's Vacation" and "They and Us". Later, Tatyana Lazarevna continued to work in television, wrote various songs for domestic performers, music for children's television programs "Alarm Clock", "ABVGDeyka", "Good Night, Little Ones!". In 1990, she emigrated to the United States, where she currently lives in Atlanta . Tatyana Ostrovskaya continues to make music, teaches, records music in her own studio, and in 2004 released a CD
