NAN, Sheli

Sheli Nan is a composer whose work blends Baroque and Classical training with global influences to create a contemporary sound. Her compositions are described as fresh, invigorating, accessible, and moving, and are performed internationally. Nan's repertoire spans solo harpsichord and piano pieces, string quartets, chamber music, and orchestral works. Her choral music includes opera, oratorios, and Requiems.

Recent and upcoming projects include the release of "Requiem for the Ancestors: Día de Los Muertos," a large-scale work in English and Spanish. Premieres include "PATHOS" for baritone and guitar, and "Flash Forward" for string orchestra, which premiered in New York City. New works also include "Goddess of Endurance" for horn trio, "By the Bayou" for tuba/euphonium quartet, and "Rock Paper Scissors" for brass quartet. Nan views her music as a means of storytelling and bridging past and present.
