Noriko Nakamura is an artist whose practice explores the relationship between humans and the material world through experimentation with material transformation. She holds a Fine Art Foundation Diploma from Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, University of the Arts London, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the Victorian College of the Arts, which she completed in 2011.
Nakamura has held solo exhibitions at Platform Contemporary Art Spaces, Rearview, and Seventh Gallery. Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at various institutions, including ICU, Castlemaine, Victoria; Murray White Room, Melbourne; National Gallery of Victoria Studio, Melbourne; and TCB art inc. In 2012, she was awarded an Australian Council ArtStart grant, and she has also received the Substation art prize and the Maude Glover Fleay Award.
