Judith Markovich is a composer whose works are described as creating a musical odyssey of triumph over adversity. Her compositions often feature energetic multi-metered rhythms, a freewheeling spirit, and relevant themes intended to inspire, comfort, and challenge audiences.
Markovich's compositions include "A Cycle of Lamentations for a Son," a two-part work commissioned by David and Kathleen Stern, addressing drug addiction and suicide. Another composition, "Resting Place" for classical guitar, was commissioned by guitarist Sergio Puccini. Her work "When Words Fail," for viola and harp, was commissioned by Rachel Talitman and is slated for release on an album in 2025.
