MARESCA, Chiara

Chiara Maresca is an Italian composer, pianist, musicologist, painter, and poet.
After graduating in piano at the San Pietro Conservatorio a Majella in Naples in 1977, he lived in Milan, and then in Turin where he studied composition with Ruggero Maghini at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. For many years he has been living in Rome where he studied with Paolo Renosto. In Rome he completes his artistic preparation by attending the courses of Drawing, Painting, Gilding and Mosaic at the Workshop of Ancient Techniques and Decoration and Trompe l'Oeil at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
The first public performance of one of his works dates back to 1982 and today his music is presented in Europe and in many foreign countries, performed by many radio bodies and programmed in contemporary music festivals in Asia, North and South America.
He collaborates with RAI and publishes essays and articles in specialized journals. He is part of juries in national and international composition competitions.
In addition to teaching and compositional activity, he deals with musicological research related to his readings and years of university spent in Naples at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy.
Since 1977 he has been teaching Piano, first at the Conservatory of Potenza, then at the Conservatory of Salerno and then at the Conservatory of L’Aquila.
