Helvi Aallotar Mäkinen was a Finnish composer, pianist, and conductor from Tampere, Finland. She is best remembered for her compositional work, including the piece "Kotkan ruusu" (The Rose of Kotka), and her long tenure as a conductor at the Tampereen Työväen Teatteri (Tampere Workers' Theatre) from 1936 to 1958.
