Ananda Macías was born in 1977 and studied composition at the Faculty of Music under Leonardo Coral and Gabriela Ortiz; however, she did not complete the program, as she shifted her focus more deeply toward singing and vocal repertoire. Regarding her saxophone repertoire, Two of her saxophone works were selected for competitions in 2017: *Crepúsculo* and *Cóatl*. *Crepúsculo* was her first composition for saxophone, created in 2000; it was chosen as the required piece for the first round of the National Classical Saxophone Competition held during the 16th International University Saxophone Gathering in Mexico in 2017. The second piece is *Cóatl*, described by Omar López as one of the composer's most mature works; it can be found on the album *I Cuartetos mexicanos de saxofón* by the ensemble Anacrúsax. Ananda Macías passed away in 2017, leaving behind only four referenced works that feature the saxophone.
