LAZZARO SCHLEDER, Griselda

Painist and actress, known for her pioneering contributions to early Brazilian cinema as both a performer and a musician. She appeared in silent films including "O Guarani" (1911) and "Uma Transformista Original" (1915). Lazzaro also made history as one of the first women to conduct an orchestra in Rio de Janeiro's movie theaters in 1909, where she provided live musical accompaniment for mixed programs combining films and theatrical performances. As part of the Lazzaro family, she participated in the intermedial practices that shaped the formative years of cinema in Brazil, blending music, performance, and exhibition in innovative ways.
