LACROIX, Sylvie

Sylvie Lacroix is a French composer, flutist, and educator based in Vienna. Born in Lyon, she studied at the Lyon Conservatoire and subsequently at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where she graduated with distinction. She has lived and worked as a freelance flautist in Vienna since 1980. She performs primarily as a soloist and chamber musician. Her artistic focus lies in the field of contemporary music, and she regularly collaborates with composers in this area. She is a founding member of Klangforum Wien and was active in the ensemble until 1997. As a composer, she creates works for chamber ensemble as well as flute and electronics.
