LABOLE, Germaine

Germaine Marie Labole was a French composer and organist. She studied organ with Marcel Dupré at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and subsequently worked as organist at the Church of Saint-Martial in Bordeaux. As early as 1922, she was awarded a prize as a composer in a competition held by the Gazette Musicale du Nord. She was a member of the Société des auteurs et compositeurs de Paris. Among her larger organ works, she wrote a Symphonie en si mineur and a Triptyque, both of which were published by Bornemann. The Prix Pierre et Germaine Labole (SACEM) was established in memory of the composer.
