Vera Kistler-Polenová was a Czech-born American composer, music educator, and writer who immigrated to the United States in 1947 and settled in Darlington, South Carolina. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in composition from the University of South Carolina in 1987 and composed roughly 40 solo, chamber, and choral works.
