Notes:

Tetiana Khoroshun is a Ukrainian composer, sound artist, and performer born in Yalta, Crimea. Her practice encompasses acoustic and electroacoustic composition, sound installation, and performance, working across various languages, places, and artistic forms.

Khoroshun’s work examines states where elements can be experienced as two things at once, including speech and melody, document and composition, landscape and instrument, listener and performer, and human and technology. Her compositions utilize phones as instruments, field recordings as ensemble textures, synthetic speech as musical material, and landscapes as active performance participants. She approaches translation as both a movement between media and a condition of living.

The ongoing occupation of Crimea and the experience of war shape unstable spaces in her work between memory and documentation, belonging and displacement, and testimony and imagination. Rather than presenting fixed musical objects, her works compose conditions that shift the act of listening itself, allowing sounds to inhabit multiple realities simultaneously.
