American pianist, conductor, musicologist, teacher and composer. New Haven, CT, May 24, 1927. She obtained a B.S. in education from Southern Connecticut State College in 1948. She studied the piano at the Juilliard School of Music and Mannes College of Music under Joseph Raiff, Martin Canin, John Goldmark and Francis Dillon. She studied conducting under Abraham Kaplan, Rudolph Thomas and Harold Aks, composition under Edward Murray, Fredric Werle and Mario Davidovsky.
