Manuela Keller is a pianist and composer. She founded the band idée manu in 2004 with Nick Gutersohn, Jan Schlegel, and Marco Käppeli. The band's music combines intricate grooves, free play, original compositions, and arrangements of 20th-century piano music.
In 2010, Keller released her first CD, "Water Chute," featuring original pieces and arrangements of works by Erik Satie and Olivier Messiaen. Her second CD, released in February 2018, focuses on arrangements of compositions by Boris Blacher, exploring his "system of variable meters." Keller's work with idée manu aims to place piano music within a band context, creating a unique musical style.
