Born in Stuttgart in 1961, she discovered the alto saxophone and jazz in Göttingen
in 1984. She has worked in jazz bands, as a theater musician, in cross-genre projects, and free improvisation . In 1991 , she spent time studying in New York. From 1992 to 1997, she studied music at the University of Kassel, performing at venues including the Göttingen Jazz Festival, the Freiburg Tent Music Festival, and in Yaroslavl, Russia. In 1999, she received a composition grant from the state of Lower Saxony and recorded the CD "Jazzplaces ." From 2000 to 2002 , she studied composition with Ed Neumeister and saxophone with Otmar Kramis at the Lucerne School of Music. In 2002 , she composed for the André Thomkins Project at the Swiss Expo (video with live music). In 2003 , she composed for the Swiss Circus Monti. Between 2002 and 2005 , her two sons were born, and she returned to Swabia. Since then, she has performed with barbara katzer & friends – her own compositions and jazz standards. She has also been a guest musician with the Hornblower Big Band . In 2012, she performed at Documenta 13 as part of a project. Sonicexchange by New York pianist Ursel Schlicht
