KACZURBINA-ZDZIECHOWSKA, Maria

Maria Kaczurbina was a Polish composer and teacher. She studied under the direction of Stanisław Kazura at the Warsaw Conservatory. From 1929 she conducted pedagogical activities in first and second degree music schools. In 1948, she took a job at Polish Radio, where she was the author of broadcasts and musical programs. She co-created the basics of music teaching methodology and educational programs for children. She was the author of the primer "My first notes" published in Krakow in 1959. She wrote about 150 songs for children. In the last years of her life, she collected documentation of folk songs, games and children's dances from various regions of Poland.
