KACHANOVA, Olga Ivanovna

Olga Kachanova wrote her first song in 1980. She is a laureate of art song competitions in Alma-Ata , Minsk (1980), Dushanbe (1981), Kazan (1982), the Grushinsky Festival (1986), the All-Union Festival in Saratov (1986), and the Grand Prix winner of the All-Union competition "Comrade Guitar" (1987). In 1987-1992 she was the artistic director of the "Author's Song Theater". In 1990, a collection of O. Kachanova's poems "Milky Ink" was published, as well as the discs "Alien Life" and "Nostalgia - Scoundrel", recorded on the Melodiya label together with V. Kozlov. Since 1994 she has been a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.
