JOLLEY, Florence Werner

Florence Werner Jolley was an American composer, organist, pianist, choral conductor, and music educator. Raised in California, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from California State University before pursuing postgraduate studies in theory and composition at the Eastman School of Music, followed by a Master of Music in church music from the University of Southern California in 1957.

Throughout her career, Jolley was deeply involved in sacred music performance and higher education. She served as a lecturer specializing in piano improvisation across the Los Angeles Community College District and held a long-standing faculty appointment at Los Angeles Pierce College. Her creative output spans sacred choral anthems, piano works, chamber compositions, and electronic music.
