JIGALIN, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Jigalin is a composer, performer, and artist based in Sydney, Australia. Her work spans experimental, improvised, and chamber music, often involving collaborations across different art forms. Jigalin's compositions have been presented at international festivals such as Gaudeamus Muziekweek and the Biennale of Sydney.

She is currently a Composer-in-Residence for Voices of Women and Moorambilla Voices Miyay Ensemble. Jigalin has held residencies at various institutions, including Bundanon Trust and Campbelltown Arts Centre. She founded the music collective the music box project, which received an award for Excellence in Experimental Music in 2020. Jigalin has also been recognized with several awards, including the 2025 Pauline Oliveros New Genre Prize. She studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
