JENNY, Leonore

As a young girl, she left the ice rink where she was taking skating lessons and sneaked into the church of the Engelberg convent to listen to the monks chanting. Later, Marie-Cécile Jenny studied at the Lucerne Conservatory and the Zurich Academy of Music. For over 40 years, she taught music at the teacher training college in Baldegg (Lucerne), became a choir director, and then a composer. In 1950, she joined the religious community in Baldegg, becoming Sister Leonore. For her, profession and vocation went hand in hand. The Apic news agency met with Sister Leonore Jenny in Mariazell.
