Hayley Jenkins is a composer based in Darlington, Durham. She began her musical journey as a flautist, later expanding her skills to include clarinet and saxophone. Jenkins pursued her higher education in music at York St John University, earning both undergraduate and master's degrees with a specialization in composition.

Since 2014, she has held the position of Senior Lecturer of Music at the University of Sunderland and also serves as a visiting lecturer at York St John University. Currently, Jenkins is undertaking doctoral studies in Composition at the Reid School of Music, University of Edinburgh, under the guidance of Dr. Gareth Williams. Beyond her academic commitments, she is the Musical Director for the Darlington Clarinet Ensemble and the Darlington Concert Band. Her work has been noted for its inventive writing for voice and sensitive text-setting.
