Toini Jalonen, composer and accompanist of gymnastics music, died at her home in Helsinki on her 102nd birthday on June 8, 2006. She was born in Sippola in 1904. Toini Jalonen studied music at the Vyborg Music Institute and the Helsinki Conservatory, where she completed her singing and piano teacher qualifications.
