IVERSEN, Anne Mette

Anne Mette Iversen is a bassist, composer, and arranger. She is also a professor at the Institute of Music at Osnabrück University and a co-owner of Brooklyn Jazz Underground Records.

Iversen leads several musical ensembles, including the Anne Mette Iversen Quartet, which she formed in 2003 and has released seven albums with. Extensions of this group include the Anne Mette Iversen Quartet+1, featuring a trombonist, and Ternion Quartet, a Berlin-based quartet known for its improvisational style. She also leads Ternion Q Expanded, a seven-musician ensemble.

Her other projects include Double Life, a collaboration between her quartet and the string quartet 4 Corners, and Poetry of Earth, a double album of original music set to poetry. Iversen is also a founding member of Brooklyn Jazz Underground and has contributed to their ensemble releases. Her work often blends modern jazz with classical music and folk influences, and she has composed music for projects like the Norrbotten Big Band.
