Lidiya Vyacheslavovna Ivanova was an organist and composer, and the author of the memoir 'Memories: A Book About My Father.' She was the daughter of the poet Vyacheslav Ivanov.
In the autumn of 1924, the Ivanov family settled in Rome. V. I. and Lidia immediately met Ottorino Respighi, whose name was resounding in the musical world. Their relationship became friendly. Lidia enrolled in the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, where she acquired the necessary "scholastic technique," and completed the composition course with distinction. She continued her studies with Respighi at a seminar for young composers. At the same time, she began to study her favorite instrument, the organ. After receiving her organist diploma from the same conservatory, she went to Siena, where she worked with Ferdinando Germani at the renowned Accademia Chigi. (Later, having become a professor at Santa Cecilia, she served as Germani's deputy during his American tour.)
