Mrs. Holcomb was a life-long accomplished musician having begun piano lessons at age four, received a music degree at University of Arkansas and studied church music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she met and married her husband of 62 years. She headed programs for children and youth in churches in Louisiana, Florida and Nashville. She was very instrumental in developing children's choir programs in churches where her husband was Minister of Music before he was drafted during WWII. After the war, they worked in Florida where she taught piano, then moved to Nashville in 1953 to continue teaching and leading in Baptist churches. She published two books of music for children and traveled for 20 years adjudicating piano students and their teachers throughout the US.
