Wendela Hebbe (née Åström), was a Swedish journalist, writer, composer, and salon hostess. She was arguably the first permanently employed female journalist at a Swedish newspaper. She had a significant place in the radical literary circles of mid 19th-century Sweden and was a controversial role model for the emancipated woman. She composed folk songs and romances as well as a musical play, Dalkullan, for the Djurgårdsteater in Stockholm.
