HAUTE, Mieke Van

From 1966, Van Haute studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels , where she took music history, harmony, counterpoint and fugue, piano, composition , and chamber music. In 1972-1973, she studied the French repertoire with Madeleine Chavance at the Conservatoire National in Amiens . In 1973-1974, she studied analysis and composition with Olivier Messiaenen and Tony Aubin , respectively , at the Conservatoire National in Paris , where she received the first prize for piano and the Prix d'excellence with congratulations from the jury. Van Haute also obtained diplomas in orchestral conducting and composition at the Académie d'été in Nice . She also received a scholarship to study composition in Warsaw with Witold Lutoslawski . In the early 1980s she studied composition with Roland Coryn and in 2002 Van Haute obtained another Master of Music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
