Vendla Hainari Forsström was born in Tohmajärvi, North Karelia to Gustaf Adolf Forsström and Lovisa Augusta Forsström (née Polviander). She was the first music teacher and choir director at the Raahe Seminary, teaching there from 1896–1898 and from 1903–1913. Vendla also sold musical instruments and sheet music, and taught private lessons for piano harmonics, and singing.
Unfortunately, there have been no compositions preserved in public archives by Vendla Hainari. It is likely that her compositions were performed at the Raahe seminary celebrations.
