Thelma Gillis was a composer born in Theodore, Saskatchewan. In May 2006, she received the Centennial Medal from the Government of Saskatchewan in recognition of her more than 60 years of dedication to developing musical talent in eastern Saskatchewan, including providing free lessons to talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Her compositions include a nine-book series of pedagogical piano methods.
