María Felicia Antonia Galli Bagutti was a Swiss-Uruguayan pianist, composer and music teacher. She was the first woman to approach the symphonic repertoire, the first to write an opera and compose a piano sonata, and the first one to venture into Latin American rhythms including tango, which was prohibitive for woman of her time.
