Katarzyna Gaertner is a Polish composer, pianist, and arranger. After debuting in the late 1950s within Poland's early jazz scene alongside figures like Andrzej Kurylewicz, she transitioned to full-time composition in 1962, establishing herself as a prominent figure in twentieth-century Polish popular music through iconic hits such as "Tańczące Eurydyki”, “Małgośka”, “Wielka Woda” and “Be ready to go today”. She has composed orchestral music, musical theatre works, film soundtracks, and popular music, including folk and jazz.
