FUENTE, Silvia Leonor Alvarez De La

Her first compositions date back to 1975, mostly for smaller ensembles such as song and chamber music . She also wrote vocal works, orchestral music, and ballet. In 1992, she received a commission from the Heidelberg Festival Ensemble for her work "Pieceditos," and in 1996, a commission from the Diabelli Trio for "Evocacion." In 1992, she was invited to give a lecture on "Female Composers from Brazil and Argentina" at the Department of Musicology at Heidelberg University . Her collaborations with Dietburg Spohr and the Ensemble belcanto resulted in compositions for solo voice and vocal ensemble – "Cuestionamientos" (1998) and "Stille Lieder" (2001). Her compositions are characterized by an expressive and highly sensitive musical language. Her writing style, both in her letters and scores, is extremely precise, and her handwriting is artistic.
