FRIEDRICH, Hanne-Lore

Hanne-Lore Friedrich (née Lauer) was a German composer, cantor, and church musician. She dedicated much of her career to sacred music and introducing children to classical and choral music. Born in 1930, Friedrich spent her professional life working within the German ecclesiastical music tradition. Friedrich’s compositional output focused heavily on educational, choral, and liturgical works. As a Kantorin (church music director/cantor), she felt strongly that establishing a foundation in classical church music for children was an essential building block for future church musicians. She remained musically active throughout her life, passing away in February 2026 at the age of 96.
