Gisela Frankl was not only a professional pianist and owner of a music school, but also gained renown as a composer. In her concert performances, she frequently included her own pieces. In 1881, she dedicated her composition "Wedding Hymn" to Crown Prince Rudolf on the occasion of his marriage to Stephanie of Belgium; the piece was performed in the Crown Prince's presence. Several of her works were subsequently published by various Viennese publishers.
