Philippine Franck was a Belgian composer and music professor. As the granddaughter of César Franck, she carried on her family's rich musical lineage. She entered the Liège Conservatoire at just 12 years old. By age 18, she graduated with top honors, sweeping first prizes in solfège, harmony, piano, chamber music, and fugue. She composed a limited number of works, including a notable Pastorale for flute and piano (written around 1930) and pieces for cello and piano.
