Myrtis Fortenberry Riley (born Myrtis Fortenberry) was a prominent American music theory professor, pianist, composer, and arranger. During her 28-year tenure as a music theory professor at Louisiana State University (LSU), much of her work involved creating specialized pedagogical pieces, counterpoint exercises, and harmonic models to aid in classroom teaching.
