Sister Mary Teresine Fonder was a sacred music educator, organist, and composer. She joined the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in 1914 and received extensive training at institutions including DePaul University and the Juilliard School of Music. Fonder composed a three-part women's chorus "Magnificat" and a published Mass setting in honor of Archbishop Howard.She was recognized for her contributions to American music, notably being named a Notable American of the Bicentennial Era in 1976.
