FIZZAROTTI, Carmen

​Carmen Fizzarotti, born in the town of Bari in the South of Italy in 1992, is a Composer.
​Her works range across instrumental solos, chamber music, large ensemble and orchestral music, and have been performed throughout Europe and as far afield as Florida and Tanzania, as well as broadcasted on ARTE and RAI RadioTre. Her music is published by SZ Sugar.
Her prizes and awards include the Ensemble Ibis Composition Competition (Frost School of Music, 2021), the NODUS Fall Call (Florida International University, 2018).
In March 2023, she made her debut at the Philharmonie de Paris with a world premiere of “Red Sand, Marafa” performed by Ensemble Cairn.
She joined "The Uncertain Four Seasons" world project with Daniel Rowland Director/Violin and the European Union Youth Orchestra with the world premiere of four concertos for violin and strings orchestra in the EUYO "Earth4All" Spring Tour 2023. The premiere took place at the prestigious Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Poland.
Furthermore, with EUYO the world premiere of “Floating Autumn” for soloist violin and string orchestra took place in two concerts in collaboration with NASA and Europa Nostra: at the Basilica del Santissimo Redentore in Venice (2021) with Laura Marzadori soloist violin, and in the island of Delos (2022) with Diana Tishchenko soloist violin. The concert "ALPHA MISSION — Delos", broadcasted on ARTE, won the Prize as "Best televised concert" in the prestigiuos Golden Prague International Television Festival.
Her compositions have been performed by Daniel Rowland and European Union Youth Orchestra, Laura Marzadori, Diana Tishchenko, Francesco Dillon, Tosiya Suzuki, Ensemble Cairn, Elio Marchesini - Divertimento Ensemble, Maurizio Zaccaria, Alessandra Rombolà and Benedetto Boccuzzi, Michele Marco Rossi and Andrea Rebaudengo on commission for the 55th Festival Pontino, Quartetto Indaco, and played in contexts such as Festival Milano Musica 2022, 52nd Festival delle Nazioni (Città di Castello, 2019), Festival Trame Sonore 2021 (Mantua), Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt, Österreichische Gesellschaft für Musik in Vienna, Biblioteca Musical Víctor Espinós in Madrid, Festival 5 Giornate at the Museo del Novecento (Milan, March 2018), Festival Time Zones (November 2018, Bari), Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo and Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne (2022), Rondò 2022 Divertimento Ensemble, Festival Nuova Consonanza (2022).
Graduated in Piano, Chamber Music and Composition and former student of Alessandro Solbiati at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan, she attends the High Specialization Course in Composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She is Professor at the "N. Paganini" Conservatory in Genova.
