Virgínia Salgado Fiúza was a prominent Brazilian composer, pianist, and music educator.
She was widely known for her instructional piano compositions. Her writings on music theory served as a standard reference for generations of students preparing for music programs. In addition to didactic miniatures, she composed character pieces for piano and set numerous poems and literary texts to music for voice and piano.
She made a valuable contribution to classical music and piano pedagogy in Brazil.
