Renée Breger Fisher was an American author, educator, and pianist, primarily known for her writings on music history. Established in 1977 by her husband, Milton Fisher, the Renée B. Fisher Composer Awards are administered by the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, Connecticut. The program commissions contemporary composers from around the world to write original pieces that debut at the piano competition.
