FISCHER, Brunhild

Brunhild Fischer, born in 1962 in Leipzig, is a musician raised in a music-loving family. She began playing the piano, flute, and drums during early childhood and entered the Leipzig music school at age five. From 1974 to 1980, she attended the Spezialmusikschule in Halle, followed by studies at the Leipziger Musikhochschule "Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" from 1980 to 1985. During this time, she performed works by J. S. Bach, joined the youth ensemble "Neue Musik," and taught younger students at the "Musikunterrichtskabinett" in Leipzig.

In 1987, Fischer moved from the socialist to the capitalist economic system and received a scholarship from the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. She subsequently undertook concert tours across Europe and America, received various awards, and recorded multiple CDs. Beyond the concert flute, historical transverse flute, and piccolo, her instrumentation includes percussion, saxophone, and piano. Throughout her career, she has sought to merge different musical eras and styles to create an equal, open music scene for artists.
