Marguerite Kauffman Fischel was a St. Louis-based author and composer. Best remembered in musical history for her own works and as a dedicatee, she notably commissioned and inspired Ernest Bloch’s piano suite Five Sketches in Sepia. She composed her own original songs and short works during the 1920s.
