Sheila Firestone is an artist whose work explores spiritual and familial themes. She is the creator of "Miriam and the Women of the Desert," a spiritual musical journey. This project draws inspiration from the biblical Exodus, focusing on the perspective of Miriam the Prophetess. The narratives are informed by both Torah and midrash, portraying Miriam as the keeper of the well and the voice of the women. The journey she leads, alongside her brothers Aaron and Moses, delves into the complexities of family relationships.
