Notes:

Nancy Trithart Faber was born in Jackson, Tennessee in 1955. She studied both performance and composition at the Eastman School of Music, then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Composition from Michigan State University, and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Music Composition from the Milton Avery Graduate School of Fine Arts at Bard College. With her husband, Randall, she has created a piano teaching method called Piano Adventures. The core of the Faber teaching philosophy is that music instruction "develops the minds and hearts" of the learner. This holistic approach values music performance not only as personal and creative expression, but also as a process of cognitive and emotional development.
