Naomi Dodd is an Australian composer whose musical style draws from impressionist, romantic and modern Australian influences, while her inspiration is deeply connected to her emotional sensitivities with compositions often reflecting Naomi’s experiences and impressions of subjects such as Australian landscapes and coastlines, home and shared human experiences.

She is regularly commissioned to write new works in the Australian art music world, Naomi’s recent achievements include her appointment as Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s 2024 Young Composer in Residence, selection for Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s 2024-25 Australian Composers’ School and orchestral arrangement work for indie rock duo, Lime Cordiale for their Australian Symphony Orchestras tour. Beyond orchestral works, recent commissions include works for chamber ensembles and solo artists, including Flinders Quartet, Omega Ensemble, flautist Eliza Shephard and guitarist Matt Withers.

Naomi’s work is regularly broadcast on ABC Classic and performed across Australia by acclaimed major orchestras (MSO, TSO, SSO, AYO), chamber ensembles and community groups. Her work has also been performed by a number of orchestras across the USA, including Awesöme Orchestra Collective (California), Symphony of the Redwoods (California) and Oakland Civic Orchestra.
