CHOU, Chui-Yu

Chiu-Yu Chou is a Taiwanese contemporary classical composer and music educator. Born in Kaohsiung, she studied composition at Taipei National University of the Arts and earned a PhD from the University of Manchester under Philip Grange. Her works include orchestral, chamber, vocal, and instrumental music, often inspired by literature, visual arts, traditional culture, and social issues. She received the ISCM-IAMIC Young Composer Award in 2011 and the Hsu Tsang-Houei Memorial Award in 2018. She teaches composition and music theory at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.
