CHILIANIS, Melanie

Melanie Chilianis, professionally known as Mel Chilianis, is an Australian composer, flautist and sound artist based in Melbourne. Their work encompasses acoustic and electroacoustic composition, improvisation and sound installations. They composed and performed with the contemporary music ensemble re-sound. Their installation Days of Our Lives featured in Melbourne Now at the National Gallery of Victoria, and their compositions have been broadcast in Australia and Italy. In collaboration with Iranian composer and santour player Atefeh Einali, they created Circle Messages (2018), combining flute, santour and electronic sound.
